In Utah you may see one of these:
- Private Home Inspector
- Needs ASHI, InterNACHI or ICC certification and the required insurance.
The rule to know
Utah created a Private Home Inspector license in 2025 (HB 58) and DOPL set a grace period until May 1, 2026 before enforcing it.
If something goes wrong
Applicants must carry at least $500,000 liability and $500,000 errors and omissions insurance.
