What the license should say
In Georgia you may see one of these:
- Salesperson
- Must be activated under a sponsoring broker.
- Associate Broker
- Broker-qualified agent who works with a firm or sponsoring broker.
- Broker
- Can run their own firm after opening a firm with the Commission.
The rule to know
A salesperson's license is active only with a sponsoring broker, and the salesperson must finish a 25-hour postlicense course in the first year or the license lapses.
Before you sign
- Ask for the license number and the name of the supervising broker, then search both.
