Real estate agent licenses in

Maine

Maine licenses real estate agents statewide.

Official search run by Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation, Real Estate Commission at www1.maine.gov.

What the license should say

In Maine you may see one of these:

Sales Agent: Works in a training capacity for a brokerage agency.
Associate Broker: Needs 2 years as a sales agent; works for an agency.
Broker: Needs 2 years as an associate broker; can be designated to act for an agency.

In Maine an agency is licensed separately, and its sales agents, associate brokers and brokers all work on behalf of that agency.

Ask for the license number and the name of the supervising broker, then search both.
