What the license should say
In New Hampshire you'll see one of these on a plumber's card, bid or truck:
- Master plumber
- Individual, or a firm that hires or employs persons to do plumbing work.
- Journeyman plumber
- Individual who installs, alters and repairs plumbing.
- Business entity license
- Corporation, LLC or partnership with an officer, partner, manager or designee holding an active master plumber license.
Hiring a company, not a person?
A business entity may be licensed if one or more of its officers, partners, managing members or designees holds an active master plumber license (RSA 153:29-a).
Doing it yourself
A property owner may install, repair or replace plumbing in their own single-family detached or townhouse residence, including new construction, but the work must conform to the state plumbing code (RSA 153:36, VIII(c)).
